Legally and Economically Responsible Body of the ZuKis

Zukunft Kinderkrippe GmbH is the body legally and economically responsible for the ZuKi child care centers (day nurseries).

Zukunft Kinderkrippe GmbH was founded on 1 August 2005 and has, since then, initiated and managed various projects. Our goal is to make a contribution toward reconciling work and family life; that is, achieving work-life balance, which is geared to implementation and suitable for everyday life.

We, Anne Branlard and Cécile Torrens-Horak, founded “Kinder brauchen Kinder e.V.” (www.kinder-brauchen-kinder.de) from 2002 to 2005 and managed it as chairwomen: from the idea and development of its concept continuing with assessment of demand and negotiations with politicians, government authorities, and craftspeople to renovating, recruiting, and finally opening and administering our first child care center (day nursery). At the time, our own need — that is, our own children — was the impetus for this adventure!

The need for nursery places was enormous, which gave us the idea of placing the competence we had gained and our knowledge at others’ disposal — first, as a consultancy, and then ourselves as a responsible body and owner. Companies, as well, had a tremendous need for child day care places for the children of their employees. Working together, we developed our plan and opened our four ZuKis from 2006 to 2013.

It is our vision to accompany children on an equal footing, to encourage their self-reliance, and to offer them a variety of possibilities so that they develop optimally both as individuals and with each other. Openness, consideration for others, and tolerance are values that we attempt to impart in everyday life with both young and old.

The quality of our child care centers is made possible by, among other things, our close cooperation with Sabine Kowatch. Ms Kowatch, a trained psychologist (she possesses the university degree Diplom-Psychologie) and family therapist, is at the disposal of the team as a professional child care center consultant and is available to parents if necessary. www.familiengesundheit.de

Since our founding, we have worked along with Amyna e.V. and deal with the topic of prevention of sexual abuse. www.amyna.de In 2013, we received the Amyna Prevention Prize for our long-term work.

As a founding member of the DBTK Dachverband Bayerischer Träger für Tageseinrichtungen e.V. (Umbrella Association of Bavarian Owners of Day Care Establishments), we have been supporting the interests of private and commercial child care establishment owners in various committees at the City of Munich and the Government of the Free State of Bavaria. www.dbtk.de
